Look up parts
Check whether a part is on the shelf — here or at another location — and get it onto your order.
Before you promise a customer a repair today, check the part. Meridian shows on-hand quantity right in the part picker — including stock sitting at your shop's other locations or on a service truck — so you know whether you can finish the job now or you're waiting on the parts desk.
Look up a part from the order
Open the order and find the Line Items panel. Click Add line item at the bottom. A new row opens with the line type set to Part.
Type a partial part number. In the Part # or search… box, type a few characters of the number or description. Matching parts drop down as you type.
Read the availability at a glance. Each result shows the retail price and a stock hint:
- A green count like (4) means it's on the shelf at your location.
- An amber badge like Out here · 3 at TRUCK1 means you're out but a sibling location has it — your cue to ask for a transfer.
- Out of stock everywhere means nobody has it; the parts desk needs to order it.
A part tagged KIT shows expand in place of a price, and a part carrying a core shows a teal core suffix like +$45.00c.
Pick the part, set the quantity, and click Add. The description and price fill in at the customer's price level. A KIT part expands into all its component lines automatically; a CORE part adds a separate core deposit line alongside it.
Look up van stock on a mobile job
Open the job in the field portal. Below the labor lines, the Van stock panel lists the parts loaded on your truck.
Read each part's count. Every row shows the part and how many you're carrying — 4 on hand. When a part is running low the line turns amber and reads 4 on hand · low.
Tap Add to put one on the job. Each Add button drops a single unit of that part onto the ticket and pulls it from the truck, not the shop shelf. Tap again for another.
What happens behind the scenes
The count you see is your location's real inventory, not a guess — a green (4) is four parts physically counted at your shop. The Out here · N at CODE badge reads across your shop's other locations and service trucks, so you can see stock exists elsewhere without leaving the order. On a mobile job, an Add from Van stock consumes the part from your truck's count, which is what keeps your van inventory honest for the next restock. Picking a part always bills at the customer's price level even though the dropdown previews the retail price.
Troubleshooting
Another location has it — the badge names the location and quantity, like Out here · 3 at TRUCK1. Meridian only tells you where the stock is; moving it is the parts desk's job. Flag them for a transfer, or pick a part that's in stock at your location.
Nobody in your shop has the part on hand. The parts desk needs to order it on a purchase order, and the order usually moves to Waiting on Parts in the meantime. Transfers and purchase orders are the parts desk's side of the counter — talk to them.
That's a KIT — it expands into all its component parts automatically when you add it, so the customer sees every piece. That's expected, not a glitch. A CORE part behaves similarly by adding its own deposit line.
The Van stock panel only appears on a mobile job and lists what the truck is currently carrying. If a part is missing, its count may have hit zero, or it was never loaded — ask your parts desk to restock the van.
