Dispatch
The mobile dispatch board — per-truck jobs, van-stock and stall flags, and the Dispatch Tickets intake queue for field service.
Service → Dispatch is where you run mobile / field service — assigning work to your service trucks and tracking each job from intake to done. It has two views: the Trucks board and the Dispatch Tickets queue. (Dispatch appears only for shops with the mobile-dispatch permission enabled.)
The Trucks board
The board shows one card per active service truck, so a dispatcher can see the whole fleet at a glance.
- Truck header — the truck code, and two at-a-glance flags: N stalled (red — jobs that have gone quiet and need a nudge) and N low (amber — van-stock parts at or below their replenish point).
- Assigned driver — the technician the truck is assigned to, or Unassigned.
- Active jobs — each job on the truck lists the customer, vehicle, and ticket number with its current status; click through to open the ticket. A stalled job is flagged in red.
- Truck actions (per card):
- Assign job — put an open in-bay ticket onto this truck (any active service ticket not yet invoiced/closed and not already mobile).
- Issue / Restock — move parts onto the truck from a shop location to top up its van stock.
- Dispatch Tickets — the header button (with a count of tickets needing attention) opens the intake queue below.
If no trucks exist yet, the board says so — add trucks under Settings → Service Trucks.
The Dispatch Tickets queue
Dispatch → Dispatch Tickets is the intake and status board for field jobs, organized into lanes by status:
- Lanes — New → Assigned → En route → On site → Working → Completed for active tickets; Closed and Cancelled collapse out of the way.
- New intake — create a dispatch ticket with the customer, location/address, the work needed, and a priority (Routine by default; raise it for urgent calls).
- Assign — set the truck and technician for a ticket; assigning moves it out of the New lane.
- Ticket detail — open a ticket for its full information and to advance its status as the tech heads out, arrives, works, and completes the job.
Priorities and statuses are color-coded so the busiest, oldest, or highest-priority tickets stand out.
How it fits together
- Trucks are set up in Settings → Service Trucks and stocked from the shop via Issue / Restock.
- A field job can start as a Dispatch Ticket (intake) or as an existing ticket that you Assign onto a truck from the board.
- Everything a truck is doing rolls up onto its board card, so one screen answers "who's where, and what still needs attention?"
