The front counter — appointments, repair orders, estimates, payments, customers, and vehicles.

Service advisors

You run the front counter. Everything a customer experiences — the phone call, the write-up, the "your truck's ready", the invoice — flows through you, and Meridian is built so each of those moments is one or two clicks.

Here's the shape of an advisor's day:

Morning. Open the dashboard, then Service → Schedule. Today's appointments are your loading plan: who's dropping off, which tech is spoken for, what was promised. A drop-off arrives — click the appointment, click Create Work Order, and the ticket is open before the driver reaches the counter.

Mid-morning. Walk-ins and phone calls become tickets: Service → Tickets → New Ticket. Pick the customer (or create one right in the form), pick the unit, capture the complaint, and get the job in front of a tech. When a customer wants numbers first, write it as an estimate instead — they can approve it from their portal without calling you back.

All day. Keep the board honest. As work moves, move the status — In Progress, Waiting Parts, Completed — so anyone who looks at the shop knows the truth. Answer portal service requests from the Requests inbox before they turn into phone calls.

Afternoon. Trucks go home, money comes in. Finalize as Invoice posts the job to the books; take payment at the counter through Point of Sale, record a check against the order, or send a text-to-pay link for the fleet manager who's three states away.

Close. Email the invoices that didn't get paid at the counter, glance at what's still open, and set tomorrow's promises honestly.
