Plan and billing

Your Meridian subscription — start it during the trial, manage payment and invoices, and what happens when the trial ends.

Admins

Do this to start your subscription before the trial runs out, update your card, download subscription invoices, or figure out why a banner appeared at the top of the app. Managing the subscription is an owner's job.

Open Settings → Billing. The card shows your plan and a status badge — Free Trial, Active, Past Due, or Canceled — plus the days remaining while you're on a trial. Below the card, What's included in ... lists what your edition actually turns on.

Your edition — Shop, Mobile, Parts & Service or Enterprise — is a separate thing from your subscription status. Status is whether you're paid up; edition is which features exist for your shop at all. If Meridian says your plan doesn't include something, that's the edition, not the status. See your edition and what's included.

Start your subscription

Open Settings → Billing and check the status badge. On a trial you'll also see a countdown like "12 days remaining in your free trial."

Click Start subscription. A secure Stripe checkout opens in your browser. Enter your card there — Meridian never sees or stores the number.

Finish checkout and return. You come back to the Billing page with a green Subscription activated — thank you! message, and your shop is fully active. The status badge flips to Active.

The Billing card: your plan, a status badge, trial days remaining, and Start subscription.

Manage payment, invoices, and cancellation

Click Manage billing. Once you're subscribed, this button opens the Stripe billing portal.

Do what you came for. In the portal you can update your payment method, view and download past invoices, or cancel. Before you've ever subscribed, a View past invoices link opens the same portal read-only.

Come back to Meridian. Changes take effect right away — an updated card clears a Past Due state, and the badge reflects your new status.

When the trial ends

During your last 14 trial days a countdown banner appears across the top of the app, styled more urgently in the final 3 days. If the trial runs out before you subscribe, the app locks and sends you to this Billing page. Your data is untouched — clicking Start subscription restores full access immediately.

A Past Due payment shows an amber banner; fix your card via Manage billing to keep the account active. A Canceled subscription also locks the app and shows a Resubscribe button — clicking it restores access. And if you close the Stripe checkout partway through, nothing changes: you'll see "Checkout was canceled" and can start it again whenever you're ready.

The trial banner appears in your last 14 days; the last 3 days show it in urgent styling.

What happens behind the scenes

All payment happens in Stripe's secure checkout and billing portal — Meridian never handles or stores your card details. When a payment succeeds, fails, or a subscription is canceled, Stripe tells Meridian and your status badge and banners update on their own. Locking the app on an expired trial or canceled plan is a gate in front of your data, not a deletion: everything you've entered is preserved, and subscribing or resubscribing lifts the gate instantly.
