Data import and export
Get your data out of Meridian as CSV files — orders, customers, parts, ledger, payroll, and more — and how data gets in.
Do this when your accountant wants the books, you're analyzing the shop in a spreadsheet, or you simply want a copy of your data — it's yours, and every major list exports to CSV. Exports never change anything; they only read what's already there.
Export a list
Open the list you want — Orders, Customers, or Parts from the sidebar.
Set your filters first. The export honors whatever you're looking at — the same filters, and the location selected in the header switcher — so narrow the list before you download if you only want part of it.
Click Export CSV. The file downloads to your computer, ready to open in any spreadsheet.
Accounting and report exports
General ledger. Go to Accounting → Ledger and click Export to download the ledger as a CSV for your accountant.
ACH collections. Go to Accounting → ACH and click Download NACHA File to produce the bank-ready file your bank ingests for fleet ACH debits.
Reports. Every standard report under Reports has an Export CSV button (alongside Print). Payroll, Advisor Sales, and Tech Productivity produce richer CSVs that include totals.
QuickBooks Desktop export
QuickBooks Desktop shops can export a daily General Journal file from Accounting → QBD Export. Set up your account-name mapping once under Settings → QuickBooks Desktop first — the export needs to know which of your ledger accounts maps to which QuickBooks name.
Getting data in
Meridian has no self-serve bulk import screen today. Records are created as you work:
- Customers and vehicles build up naturally as you write orders — quick-create is built into the order form, so you add a new customer or truck in the moment.
- Parts can be created on the fly as you receive purchase orders.
If you're switching from another system and need a large amount of existing data brought over at once, that migration is handled with the Meridian team during onboarding, not through a self-serve screen.
What happens behind the scenes
Exports are generated on demand and nothing is stored — each click builds a fresh file from your live data. Because a list export honors the page's filters and the active location in the header switcher, two people can export the "same" list and get different files if they're filtered differently. Exports are strictly read-only: downloading the ledger, a report, or a customer list never changes a single record.
Troubleshooting
Exports honor the filters and the active location shown on the page. If rows are missing, clear your filters and — in a multi-location shop — switch the header to All locations before exporting.
There's no self-serve import screen today. New records build up as you write orders and receive purchase orders. For a full data migration from your previous system, work with the Meridian team during onboarding.
The QBD export needs an account-name mapping first. Open Settings → QuickBooks Desktop and map your ledger accounts to their QuickBooks names, then run the export from Accounting → QBD Export.
Every standard report has an Export CSV button. Payroll, Advisor Sales, and Tech Productivity go a step further with dedicated CSVs that include totals; the rest export the table you see.
