Foreman, your owner copilot
Read the weekly briefing, ask business questions in plain English, and act on ranked insights.
Foreman watches your numbers so you don't have to hunt through reports. It composes a ranked briefing of what's worth a look, answers plain-English questions with cited data, and flags problems with a dollar figure attached — so a five-minute read tells you where to spend your attention this week.
Open Foreman. Click Foreman in the sidebar. The landing page shows your latest briefing — labeled Weekly briefing (or Daily / On-demand) with its date, a headline like 3 items worth a look, and the Combined estimated impact in dollars across everything it surfaced. Along the top are Ask Foreman, Threads, and Settings.
Read an insight. Each item is a card with a severity badge — INFO, WARNING, or CRITICAL — the category it came from, an Est. impact dollar figure, and a recommended action. Click the card to open the detail: the reasoning behind it, the supporting numbers with citations back to the underlying data, and the next step it suggests.
Act on it. On an insight you're handling, click Acknowledge. To park one for later, use Snooze and pick 1 week, 1 month, or 1 quarter. To clear one you don't care about, click Dismiss. Snoozed and dismissed insights drop out of the next briefing so it stays focused.
Teach it. Under each insight, the Was this useful? bar lets you mark it Useful, Not useful, Already handled, or False positive. Foreman factors your feedback in and surfaces less of what you wave off.
Ask a question. Click Ask Foreman, then type something fuzzy in the Ask Foreman a question… box — "What were my top 5 customers by revenue this year?" or "Show me labor margin by tech for the last month" — and click Ask. Foreman runs the real reports behind the scenes and answers in prose, with a numbered citation badge on every figure that you can click to see the exact rows behind it. Past conversations live under Threads.
Tune it. On the Settings page (linked from the Foreman header), the Insight templates list turns each detection On or Off for your shop, and Briefing cadence sets how often the digest is composed. When you want a fresh read without waiting for the schedule, click Compose briefing now and Foreman rebuilds the briefing on the spot.
What happens behind the scenes
Foreman only reads — it never changes a ticket, an invoice, or your books. Every insight and every answer is built by running the same reports you could run yourself, then explaining what they show. Acknowledging, snoozing, or dismissing an insight only changes what Foreman puts in front of you next; the underlying numbers are untouched. Your feedback ("Not useful," "Already handled") trains which detections rise to the top over time. And because every figure in an answer carries a citation, nothing is a black box — you can click through to the rows that produced it and check the math yourself.
Troubleshooting
That's the starting state. Open Settings, switch on the insight templates you want under Insight templates, then click Compose briefing now. Once detections are enabled and a briefing is composed, the landing page fills in.
Foreman is permission-gated. Reading the briefing, asking questions, and changing settings are separate permissions, so your account may have one without the others. Whoever manages users can adjust your access in Settings → Users.
If it's handled, click Acknowledge; if it's noise, use Snooze or mark it Not useful or False positive on the feedback bar. Acknowledged, snoozed, and dismissed insights stay out of the next briefing, and your feedback tunes down similar ones.
Click the citation badge next to it to see the exact rows Foreman used. If an answer has a claim it couldn't tie to data, Foreman flags that in an amber note at the top — treat those figures as unverified until you check the citations.
